Steven Taylor is Associate Professor at the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado, and Director of the Naropa Audio Archive. He holds a PhD in music from Brown University and is a member of the seminal underground rock band the Fugs. In 2003, he published False Prophet: Field Notes from the Punk Underground (Wesleyan University Press), a memoir/ethnography accounting five years in the life of a guitarist with the New York hardcore band False Prophets. For many years he toured with Allen Ginsberg.
