Nell Farrell was born in Eastwood, something she shares with D.H. Lawrence. She now lives in Sheffield where she earns her living in social work education and as a creative writing tutor. Her story ‘My Mother Dreams of Lovelave Watkins’ features in Some Girls’ Mothers.
Ray French
Ray French was born in Wales to Irish parents. His books include The Red Jag and other stories (Planet) and two novels, All This Is Mine (Vintage) and Going Under (Secker & Warburg). His stories on fatherhood appear in Four Fathers.
Chelsey Flood
Chelsey Flood lives in Cornwall but was born in the Midlands. Her story ‘Grief Benches’ features in Born in the 1980s.
Alexandra Fox
Alexandra Fox is a mother, grandmother, and freelance copyeditor who lives in a small village in the middle of England. She began writing short stories in 2004 and has won a number of literary competitions. Her short fiction has been published in journals and anthologies including Bridport, Fish and Asham.
Her story ‘The Hand That Whirls The Water’ features in Wonderwall.
Penny Feeny
Penny Feeny is an award-winning short story writer, whose work has featured in many literary magazines in the UK and overseas. She has contributed to anthologies including Northern Stories (Arc) Her Majesty (Tindal Street), Bracket (Comma Press), Small Voices, Big Confessions (EditRed) and Dundee New Writing. Her stories have been broadcast on local radio, Radio 4 and the BBC World Service. She lives in Liverpool.
